This Privacy Policy explains how KetoBuddy handles personal information when you use our iOS app, contact us, or visit our legal pages. It covers our users in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
KetoBuddy is operated by Daniel Hangan (“KetoBuddy,” “we,” “us”). Daniel Hangan is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used and is your contact for privacy requests.

Account and profile. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and the name and email address the provider shares with us. Apple may provide a private relay email address. We also process your display name, optional avatar, buddy code, time zone, preferences, and account settings.
Nutrition and macros. We process the foods, drinks, meal descriptions, photos, recipes, portions, dates, and notes you choose to record. This includes calories, protein, fat, total carbohydrates, fibre/fiber, sugar alcohols, calculated net carbohydrates, nutrition targets, and corrections to estimates.
Body measurements and goals. We process information you enter such as date of birth, sex used in energy calculations, height, weight and weight history, target weight, optional waist measurement, activity level, diet preferences, and goals. Some onboarding inputs are processed on your device rather than synced to your account.
Ketones and wellness records. We process the ketone readings you enter, including the measurement method, value, date and time, and notes; food-based ketosis estimates and their confidence or calibration information; and the habit, activity, water, fasting, program, and progress records you use. These records and inferences can reveal information about your health.
On-device safety answers and photos. Answers to the onboarding questions about medical conditions and medications are processed on your phone and are not included in our account sync or meal-analysis request. Progress photos and ketone-strip photos saved by the app are stored locally in the current version. Your operating system's device-backup settings may affect local copies. If you independently include sensitive details in a meal description, support message, or community post, those details follow the handling of that feature.
Community and support. If you use buddy or challenge features, we process connections, invitations, membership, scores, messages, photos, sharing settings, and reports of abuse. If you contact us, we receive your contact details and the contents of your message.
Our app and service providers process account and device identifiers, IP addresses, app and operating-system versions, authentication activity, timestamps, errors, security events, and service usage needed to operate and protect KetoBuddy.
For AI meal analysis, we record analysis results and technical details such as request status, model, processing time, image size, and errors. These records are linked to your account. A saved meal and its nutrition values can remain in your diary separately from the analysis record.
Apple and RevenueCat provide subscription information such as product, transaction identifiers, entitlement status, trial eligibility, renewal or expiry, purchase dates, storefront/currency, and purchase amounts. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
Advertising-related information is described separately in section 7. KetoBuddy does not request access to your precise GPS location, contacts, or your entire photo library. The current app does not read or write Apple Health/HealthKit records or automatically connect to a ketone meter.
